Description

The Alcan™ hand covers provide maximum protection no matter the weather. Originally designed for BMW GS motorcycles, the Alcans are compatible with a wide range of bigger adventure and sport touring bikes. Covered with our waterproof HippoSkin™, it features a generous layer of HippoFat™ insulation, keeping the elements at bay. These hand covers ensure comfort and dexterity, giving you full protection while you ride. Plus, the reflective components boost visibility during low-light rides, so you can ride confidently even when the sun sets.

For bikes with integrated turn signals, check out the Alcan™ CF (Clear Front) model, which features a clear window for turn signal visibility while keeping your hands warm and dry.

Note: Hand/brush guards are required for fitting and safety reasons.

Installation

No tools or hardware are required for installation. Simply slide the hand covers over your bike's hand/brush guards, and you're ready to ride. For more details, refer to our guide below or watch the installation video.

STEP 1

Prepare the Hand Guards

Apply adhesive double-sided Velcro straps around the outside rail of each hand guard. (We also offer Hand guards & Velcro straps!)

STEP 2

Slide On Your Hand Covers

Open all Velcro closures and slide the hand covers onto the hand guards, ensuring the hand opening is accessible.

STEP 3

Secure the Tabs

Wrap the sewn-in tabs around the Velcro loop. Close the hand opening Velcro and the small tab on the neoprene gauntlet.

STEP 4

Finishing Up

Stretch the neoprene cuff around the handlebars and secure the Velcro. Repeat on the other side, and you’re ready!

Hippo Hands

I love the Alcan Hippo Hands! I used them on my V Strom and I had to turn off my heated grips because my hands were getting too hot. They are easy to put on and stop the rain and the wind. You can use lightweight gloves and still stay warm. I feel the Hippo Hands are a great way to extend your riding season. I would recommend these to anyone who loves to ride. The only downside is that you can't visualize the handlebar controls. You just have to memorize where they are. It was never a problem. Thanks for such a great product.
